Create shared profiles
Create the manufacturer and, where relevant, the responsible-person profile with accurate names, postal addresses and electronic contact details. Obtain permission to use personal contact information. Reuse shared profiles where the same entity serves multiple products.
Assign products and warnings
Link the relevant profiles and product identifiers. Add warnings for each required language and review their accuracy and suitability. A Reviewed flag records your own review; it is not an independent legal assessment or a qualified translation.
Check languages
The app interface supports English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Portuguese. The Portuguese storefront proof uses pt-PT. Warning matching uses the exact locale, ignoring letter case: a generic pt record is not a pt-PT translation. Publish the required store languages and supply suitable warnings. Missing reviewed translations must be resolved rather than assumed to fall back to English.
Connect your theme
Add the Product Safety block to each relevant product template in Shopify’s theme editor. Preview the real product page on desktop and mobile, with expanded/collapsible display and each store language. Compatibility depends on the theme and template; repeat checks after theme changes.
Understand country visibility
An EU-only setting uses the Shopify selected country. It is not a physical-location or IP check and does not determine legal applicability. Check visibility with the country selector for EU and non-EU countries; confirm the intended template is actually assigned to the product.
Imports and bulk operations
Use the current CSV template and diagnostics. Start with a small selection, review validation messages and retain your export and operation journal. Shopify limits apply. Journals become eligible for expiry after seven days and do not replace your own durable backup.
Before uninstalling
Export your records and arrange another way to display any required product information. Uninstalling removes the theme extension. Do not assume app-owned records or their storefront presentation will remain available after uninstall. Contact support before relying on a migration.
Understand the legal boundary
GPSR Article 19 describes information for distance sales. The app connects merchant-supplied information with Shopify storage and display; a diagnostic pass is not a compliance certificate. Check the official text and the requirements applicable to your products. Read the regulation on EUR-Lex.
